Penny box # 2

Went through another box of pennies last night, came out with 8 wheat pennies this time. Woo!!! The oldest is a 1917, my oldest so far. Also got my first King George Canadian penny, it is a 1943.

Ended September with 3.79 in found change. Not the best month ever but I'll take it. Grand total is 62.46.

2500 pennies down

I purchased and searched through my first box of pennies this week and came out with 7 wheat pennies. 2500 pennies are heavy.

Current found change $61.31.

No major title

I have found well over 4 bucks this month (dollar bill on the first) and proud to say I am starting to find deposits of multiple coins. So far I have found a set of 8 pennies and another of 7 pennies. Also had 2 days in a row of finding a quarter. Woo! Not much else to say, will have an update at the end of the month.

This past weekend brought upon Sunny's weeding and my biggest one day haul. The big day was at the new wifes parents farm and also Treasure Island. At TI I found a twenty in the bathroom, a quarter on a slot machine and another quarter near a food stand at 2 AM. The casino did away with giving out coin and now prints out slips. I found a one cent slip, one of the machines had a two cent credit and another patron gave us a twenty eight cent credit. So big score day woo!

Found a penny in the skyway

Today on our short walk to Caribou to get coffee I found a penny in the skyway. I have all but given up looking for money in the skyway but it has produced over 3 percent of the total money found so far. Also found a penny by a bus stop and a penny at the grocery stores self checkout. The toffee cookies at Rainbow are dangerous.

Total money found so far : 31.22.

July has been amazing!

Finally a good start to a month. I did not find anything on the 1st but have found 26 coins since then with a total of 99 cents! Had some good finds on my day off and also finds at Rosedale mall. My most impressive find was a North Carolina quarter on Shepard Rd. The road was closed down the 4th for fireworks and we walked on the road. The quarter is severly oxidized and dirty.

One week left in June

This month has brought an additional 2.51 to my jar and I'm hoping for an additional 1.49 prior to the end of the month. Not 100% happy with my finds, but hey it's free money. Today brought two individual three penny piles. Kinda exciting I've never had more than two at a time. The first was in the alley by Walgreens and the second was in Mears Park. Current money total is $26.51.

End of May!

Well I am one month in on money walking and reached four dollars even. I just needed a penny this morning, which I found two minutes in the walk. Crazy thing it was a 2009 log cabin! Woo!!! Happy with my find I walked over to the St Paul farmers market to get some breakfast. Once breakfast was obtained it was time to leave the chaos. Just as I left I saw a crumpled up wad of paper. Quickly I obtained this wad and walked back home. In the elevator at home I checked out my find, it was a twenty someone had mistakenly discarded.

So for May 2009 I obtained $24.00 and got to learn a little more about my city.

Memorial weekend!

This memorial weekend we made a trip to the St. Paul framers market, the Minnesota Historical Society and also the Science Museum of Minnesota. I finally beat that damned virtual barge simulator at the museum. Also made a super sweet deer head mount. My street funds are now at $3.39.

New hobby

With spring just coming around I have taken on a new hobby - finding change in the streets. This is mostly done on my walking commute from work to home, I have netted $1.58 in the past month or so. Also walking is good for you I guess.

I will keep more up-to-date postings of my findings. Today so far I found a penny on the Galtier side of Mears Park and a dime in the Lowertown farmers market. Since Deb's thing got delayed till noon I might go for another walk.
